Todd Oldham + Decades
To celebrate the 20th anniversary of L.A.-based vintage emporium Decades, founder Cameron Silver is offering a special curated selection of designer Todd Oldham’s ’90s creations, available in-store and online through luxury design marketplace 1stdibs. “Decades was born in 1997 at the height of Todd Oldham’s fame and influence on American fashion,” says Silver of Oldham, who has dressed Naomi Campbell, Tyra Banks, Linda Evangelista and other fashion icons of the era. “His clothes are celebratory and exuberant—the perfect combo to mark 20 years of Decades.”
Beyond his admiration for the designer, Silver also has a thing for the era’s sense of purity. “There was certain innocence in the 1990s that was lost in the aughts,” he says. “I miss the quirk.” Luckily for us, Silver is bringing back the time’s signature aesthetics with an exhibit of the Oldham collection at Decades, on display until the pieces are sold. On June 20, the opening night of the presentation, Selma Blair is set to don a 1994 jersey evening gown to herald the exclusive shopping event. Apart from the star’s look, everything from slip dresses, boleros, print blouses and even hair ornaments that Todd’s own grandmother fashioned for his shows can be purchased, with price tags ranging from $350 – $2,400.
