The Music Center 50th Anniversary Launch Party
Longtime supporters of Los Angeles’ Music Center gathered at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion to launch celebrations marking the Center’s 50th anniversary, an event that will be commemorated throughout this year. Guests toasted the Music Center’s beginnings with martinis and hors d’oeuvres as host Nigel Lythgoe welcomed Tony-award winning actress and singer Christine Ebersole who performed alongside Dean Mora and His Orchestra. Together, they entertained with “The Music That Makes Me Dance,” and other timeless pieces. Later in the evening, a special tribute was paid to the 1955 El Dorado Party, an event that raised funds to establish the Center by way of the donation of a Cadillac El Dorado. Stephen D. Roundtree, current CEO of the Music Center, noted that the celebration will come full circle when Cadillac displays the company’s first plug-in hybrid luxury coupe during a slate of 50th anniversary parties that will take place in the coming months.
