Founder Cassandra Huysentruyt Grey celebrated the opening of Violet Grey Melrose Place, her new beauty boutique, on February 25, in Los Angeles. Along with co-hosts Carole Bayer Sager and Lorraine Schwartz, Grey—who is married to Brad Grey, the chairman and chief executive of Paramount Pictures—threw a dinner to honor beauty icon Elizabeth Taylor on the eve of what would have been the Oscar-winning actress’s 82nd birthday. Dom Pérignon curated the evening’s dinner menu, and guests including Eva Mendes, Anjelica Houston, Jack Nicholson, Pharrell Williams, and Erin Wasson were on hand for the debut of both the Violet Grey online platform and the brick-and-mortar retail store of the same name that was designed  by William Sofield’s Studio Sofield. Both have been highly anticipated by readers of  Grey’s editorial platform, The Violet Files.
