Long after the last pizza ordered by Ellen DeGeneres was consumed at the Dolby Theatre and all the Academy Awards had been handed out on Sunday, March 2, the revelry at the Governors Ball continued in Hollywood at the Ray Dolby Ballroom. Chef Wolfgang Puck and his edible golden statues held court as guests toting their awards arrived to celebrate. This year’s Best Actress, Blue Jasmine’s Cate Blanchett dressed in gold Armani Prive, joined the party, alongside Dallas Buyer’s Club’s Matthew McConaughey who wore Dolce & Gabbana to accept the Best Actor trophy for his portrayal of AIDS activist Ron Woodroof. Soon the ballroom filled with winners including Brad Pitt in Tom Ford (producer of 12 Years a Slave the Best Picture winner), Jared Leto in a tux by Saint Laurent designer Hedi Slimane (clutching a Best Supporting Actor statue for his role in Dallas Buyer’s Club), Lupita Nyong’o in Prada (she captured Best Supporting Actress for her role in 12 Years a Slave), and Spike Jonze in Kenzo (winner of Best Original Screenplay for Her).
