LAXART held its second annual Ungala presented by Phillips auction house at Acabar restaurant in Los Angeles on Monday, May 19. Hosts Claire Block, Ariana Lambert Smeraldo, and Alison Swan welcomed supporters and artists including Alex Israel, Jonas Wood, Charles Gaines, Mark Hagen, Fay Ray, Shana Lutker, and Mimi Lauter to the celebration of contemporary art also sponsored by the H Lorenzo boutique in Beverly Hills. Director Lauri Firstenberg toasted artists Wyatt Kahn and Jennifer Guidi who are currently showing work at LAXART in Culver City, and she also announced that the independent nonprofit just launched LAXART East for its New York supporters.
