Donning long platinum locks and dressed in Alexander McQueen, Lady Gaga joined Eva and Michael Chow to honor Inez & Vinoodh, the Dutch photography team of Inez Van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin on Thursday, July 11, the evening before the opening of their Gagosian Gallery photography exhibition in Beverly Hills. Gaga, a frequent collaborator with the photographers, also introduced her third studio album, ARTPOP slated for release in November from Interscope. Inez & Vinoodh shot the cover art for her upcoming single, “Applause,” that will hit the airwaves on August 19. “With Gaga, she has about 400 ideas a day and it feels like we’ve known her our whole lives,” said Lamsweerde, describing a typical shoot with the recording artist, before her partner Matadin added, “It all comes from inside for her, how she feels things. Everything represents something to her.” To wit, the exhibition includes numerous portraits of Gaga, both cross-dressing as Joe Calderone and made up with reptilian cheekbones and sharp-as-a-blade shades.
