Friends of The Costume Institute + Susan Casden
In keeping with tradition, the West Coast Friends of The Costume Institute held its highly anticipated annual dinner in Los Angeles on Thursday, June 15. Marking its 10th anniversary with an evening at Spago in Beverly Hills, the event drew a flurry of local fashionistas, including Dita Von Teese, Perrey Reeves, Monique Lhuillier, Jennifer Hale and Alison Edmond to celebrate the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s fashion exhibit “Rei Kawakubo/Commes des Garçons: Art of the In-Between” with curator Andrew Bolton. Mirroring the theme (which also served as the inspiration for this year’s Met Gala), host Susan Casden tapped florist Jeff Leatham to create avant-garde table settings of roses and tulips. Following cocktails and dinner, all eyes turned to Bolton, who shared his insights on the influential designer and the exhibit. “It’s always such a pleasure to host Andrew Bolton here in Los Angeles and have a chance to get up close and personal with him,” said Casden.
