David Webb + LACMA Costume Council
New York-based jeweler David Webb and the LACMA Costume Council invited author Ruth Peltason to introduce her newest release at the Brown Auditorium inside the Los Angeles County Art Museum on Tuesday, April 22. Peltason discussed David Webb: The Quintessential American Jeweler (Assouline) with members of the LACMA Director’s Circle and Costume Council and highlighted some of the designer’s most iconic pieces currently displayed in a special exhibition at the jeweler’s Beverly Hills boutique. The instillation, David Webb: Where Jewelry Meets Fashion, slated to run through the end of May, features 75 of the most notable pieces from the 1960s and 70s—an era known for Pop Art, bold patterns, and bright hues—and a percentage of sales at the Beverly Hills boutique benefits the Costume Council.
