VIP Pride Party 2016
Marking his ninth consecutive year hosting the highly anticipated VIP Pride Party, longtime advocate and publicist Mark Rhoades kicked off Pride weekend with a star-studded affair at San Francisco’s Clift hotel on Friday, June 23. Nearly 300 LGBTQ leaders from across the Bay Area filled the boutique hotel for a cocktail party benefitting local non-profit Richmond/Ermet Aids Foundation, an organization dedicated to raising funds for AIDS services, hunger programs and programs for undeserved youth. The evening soiree, sponsored by PG&E, drew a mix of community, corporate and civic leaders including S.F.’s best-dressed philanthropist, Joy Venturini Bianchi, Unionmade’s Todd Barkett and politicians Mark Leno and George Gascón. Says Venturini Bianchi, “Mark Rhoades is my dear friend and it is thrilling to see what he has accomplished in nine years as the host and event producer for the LGBTQ community. His dedication and hard work has brought attention to this special, precious and unique community.”
