The Representation Project held a sold-out Mother’s Day luncheon on Wednesday, May 11, at the Marin Art & Garden Center in the Bay Area, spotlighting a conversation between the project’s Founder and CEO Jennifer Siebel Newsom and humanitarian and Danish actress Connie Nielsen. Newsom joined powerful women including Zem Joaquin and Katie Traina in addressing the challenges of modern motherhood in a media-driven society and focused on the theme of “Wonder Woman” (a nod to Nielsen’s upcoming role in the Wonder Woman film out next summer). The alfresco affair marked The Representation Project’s fifth anniversary, which has been utilizing film and media to yield cultural transformation and help limit stereotypes by highlighting specific social causes. Guests not only left with eye-opening information, but also special gift bags containing products from Gwyneth Paltrow’s new organic skincare line, Juice Beauty.
