On Thursday, November 12, over 280 guests filled San Francisco’s landmark Ferry Building for the annual Silver Trowel Award Dinner benefitting Slide Ranch—an educational farm and nature preserve on the Marin coast. Winemakers, civic leaders and bon vivants joined event chairs Claire Hudson, Margo Green and Laura McDonnell in honoring the owners and co-chief visionary officers of Clif Bar & Company, Kit Crawford and her husband, Gary Erickson, with the esteemed Silver Trowel Award. Gourmet morsels and red blends flowed throughout the evening, as guests enjoyed a live auction and performances from rocker and former Ambrosia guitarist, David Pack. Funds from the food-centric auction (think dinner and wine packages to S.F.’s best epicurean hot spots) went towards Slide Ranch’s burgeoning educational programs connecting children with nature.
