Part the Cloud Gala 2016
Silicon Valley tech titans, celebrities and philanthropists came together to support the Alzheimer’s Association‘s largest fundraiser, the Part the Cloud Gala, at Menlo Park’s Rosewood Sand Hill hotel on Saturday, April 30. The black-tie affair, hosted by Dennis O’Donnell of KPIX, raised a record-breaking $10.1 million towards the organization’s ongoing efforts thanks in part to a live auction narrated by actor and comedian Seth Rogan and his wife, Lauren Miller. Attendees including Paula Abdul, Donnie Demers, Joe Montana and Ronnie Lott lent their ears to a host of speakers, such as early stage Alzheimer’s speaker Steven Barber and, his wife, Tracy as they shared their personal experience with the disease. Indie folk artist Ashley Campbell took the stage with a heartfelt song written in honor of her father, Glen Campbell, who was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, while country-rock icon Jimmy Buffett closed out the evening on a high note with his chart-topping tunes.
