Ringing in its sixth year of equestrian festivities, the Giant Steps Charity Classic partnered with celebrity wedding and event planner Colin Cowie along with Hermès to welcome everyone from up-and-coming junior athletes to Olympic-level competitors as well as guests to the scenic track of Sonoma Horse Park on Saturday, August 1 for the Classic Six Bar and Gala. The afternoon buzzed with impressive jumps from champion riders Eve Jobs, Ransome Rombauer and others at yet another successful competition supporting the Giant Steps Equestrian Center for children and veterans seeking therapeutic riding lessons. Saturday’s main fundraising gala drew guests like Gwen McCaw, Sloan Barnett, and Janet and Steve Wozniak for an exclusive VIP dinner and live auction, while Ashley Herman, whose family owns the park, presided over the evening. The six-day run concluded with Sunday’s Shaklee Grand Prix, where winners were awarded prize money along with hand-crafted Hermès blankets.
