West Coast artist luminaries Ed Ruscha and Jonas Wood came together to celebrate the opening of their exhibition “Notepads, Holograms and Books” at the Gagosian gallery in San Francisco on Thursday, March 30. The special night attracted Bay Area notables like Instagram co-founder Mike Krieger, philanthropist Komal Shah, Thai museum architect and Gagosian S.F. designer Kulapat Yantrasast and Zio Ziegler, a Mill Valley-based graffiti artist. Attendees made their way through the exhibition, which explores the nature of language and image, writing and typography—from an image inspired by Wood’s child’s drawings to Ruscha’s word-paintings of phrases such as “OH NO,” on the spines and fore-edges of actual books. Through June 17.
