Bay Area Treasure Award Dinner
Jacqueline Sacks welcomed filmmakers Philip Kaufman, John Lasseter, and Chris Columbus, and guests including Randi and Bob Fisher, Nellie Levchin, Rodarte designers Kate and Laura Mulleavy, Christine Suppes, and Katie and Todd Traina to the Four Seasons, San Francisco, to honor George Lucas with the Bay Area Treasure Award on Tuesday, October 24. The evening, hosted by San Francisco Museum of Modern Art’s Modern Art Council (MAC), celebrated Bay Area-based writer and director who is venerated by generations of science fiction devotees for creating the Star Wars franchise. Lucas, who is currently proposing to build a museum that would house his extensive collection of illustrations and graphic art in San Francisco’s Presidio, was joined for the festivities by his wife Mellody Hobson, and proceeds from the party benefited SFMOMA’s exhibitions and education programs.
