The interior of Ken Fulk‘s fabled, brick-walled SOMA loft has seen its fair share of grandiose soirees. But his latest affair on Wednesday, November 9, proved to be an evening to remember as the lauded design authority pulled back the curtain of his Magic Factory to honor fashion designer Andrew Gn and jeweler Mish Tworkowski along with his co-host, interior maven Hillary Thomas. “I wanted to welcome two of my favorite designers to San Francisco,” says Thomas of Gn and Tworkowski, who made a special appearance on the West Coast by way of Paris and New York, respectively. “There was no better way than a magical evening with Ken Fulk—he is the best,” she adds. Singapore-born Gn is beloved by his “Gn-ettes”—his faithful flock of S.F. patrons including the night’s guests Allison Speer and Carolyn Chang—for his ultraglamorous, lush evening creations, and Thomas’ longtime friend Tworkowski, designer of Mish New York, is also favorited by the city’s well-heeled for his opulent-yet-modern gems made with everything from South Sea and Tahitian cultured pearls to black diamond pavé. Guests like Denise Hale, Carol Bonnie, Joseph Singer and Kathryn Lasater gathered amid a festive setting laden with fragrant peonies, sprigs and autumnal branches for an ethereal dinner with a menu by Thomas’ chef, Seth Bowden. Illuminated by the light from tall silver candelabras lining the communal table, the latest Mish jewels glimmered on moss-filled bowls to provide an up-close look, which undoubtedly sparked holiday wishlist ideas from one end to the other.
