70 Years a Supermodel + David Downton
On Wednesday, June 8, Ken Fulk pulled back the curtain to his Magic Factory in San Francisco to fete “70 Years a Supermodel,” with iconic supermodel Carmen Dell’Orefice and beloved British fashion illustrator David Downton. Amid abundant floral arrangements filled with peonies, roses and locally foraged branches by Fulk’s Flower Factory, a crowd of 100 guests gathered for the seated event celebrating Carmen, the world’s longest-working supermodel and Downton’s favorite muse. The two also signed the first ten of fifty limited-edition prints by the illustrator featuring Carmen’s famous face for guests like Joy Venturini Bianchi, Denise Hale and photographer Ali Mahdavi. Following the indoor celebrations in Fulk’s sprawling artifact-filled loft, attendees gathered on the terrace of the 1920s building just in time to watch the sun set on the city below.
