2016 Tipping Point Benefit
Over 1,200 of Bay Area’s finest came together at San Francisco’s historic Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in celebration of the 10th annual Tipping Point Benefit on Thursday, May 5. Helmed by a list of co-chairs—including Nicole Curran, Joseph Jacob, Christina Guevara, Mick McGuire, Amy and Drew McKnight, and Laura and Gregg Perloff—the “Bay Area Block Party”-themed fundraiser raised over $13 million in support of Tipping Point Community’s platform of 45 nonprofit organizations, each working to fight poverty and strengthen underserved communities. Daniel Lurie, CEO and founder of Tipping Point, joined patrons including Alexis and Trevor Traina, Gavin Newsom and Alec Perkins, as well as tech moguls like Twitter co-founder Evan Williams and Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer. The attendees filled the grand hall and enjoyed a seated dinner as speakers took the stage and touched on the organization’s efforts. Grammy Award-winning soulful rock group Alabama Shakes closed out the evening with a lively show—a grand finale to one of the region’s most successful fundraisers yet.
