Nancy Davis welcomed guests to the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza on Friday, May 2, for the 21st Race to Erase MS event. Famed newspaper executive Dean Singleton was honored with the Medal of Hope Award for his resilience to the disease and his inspirational spirit, while Howie Mandel and last year’s Medal of Hope recipient, Jack Osbourne, led a live auction with prizes including a stay at the Hilfiger estate on Mustique Island and a large-party dinner at Mr. Chow. Performances by CeeLo Green and Natalie Cole were followed by Steven Tyler who sang a five-song set complete with an impromptu duet with Cole to Aerosmith’s “Walk This Way.” Guests including Alessandra Ambrossio, Tommy Hilfiger, and Dee Ocleppo, among others, attended in support of the organization and its Center Without Walls program of top multiple sclerosis research centers collaborating to treat and ultimately cure MS.
