Perfect Pairing: RE/DONE + Hanes

Certain wardrobe staples remain indisputably dominant in our closets no matter the season or year, and the plain white T-shirt holds a place near the top of that list. However, creating the best version of such a basic garment has, in recent years, become a quest akin to the search for the Holy Grail. Labels, including The Row, were founded simply to develop such a design. Now RE/DONE, the online denim company Sean Barron co-founded with Jamie Mazur to seek out vintage Levi’s and recreate them in current cuts, is trying its hand at the cotton shirts. RE/DONE, in collaboration with the T-shirt manufacturing experts at Hanes, just launched a line of shirts in slim silhouettes and also more boxy shapes. The first women’s crew neck designs have arrived, and men’s cuts are soon to follow just as the infamous beach cafe signs emerge along the California coast reading, “No shoes, no shirt, no service.”
