Mignonne Décor in Berkeley

Looking for that perfect chair? Now’s your chance to design your own. Johnelle Mancha, owner of Berkeley-based design showroom Mignonne Décor, has teamed up with textile designer Caroline Cecil Textiles  with new offerings from hand-painted dotted fabrics to retro-inspired circular patterns. “We love that Caroline’s textile line is painterly, and that she hand draws all her designs,” says Mancha, who opened her store stocked with vintage lamps and reupholstered vintage goods along with husband, Brian Hill, nearly 10 years ago. “One area of our shop has such a strong focus on custom upholstery, and because we have an on-site fabric room where carry a lot of big-name fabric brands like Duralee, Kravet, and Robert Allen, we also love carrying her brand that represents such a unique spirit.”

To celebrate the collaboration, Mancha and Cecil will host a design workshop on June 18th (6-8pm) replete with a design-your-own-chair station highlighting Cecil’s fabrics and expert tips on everything from how to choose a palette, to selecting and matching swatches with a frame. The only decision left to make? Where to make room for the new design at home.
