Perfect Pairing: Julia Restoin Roitfeld + Roger Vivier
“A lot of the pieces feel very Art Deco, which is one of my favorite periods,” says Julia Restoin Roitfeld, who recently donned shoes, bags, and jewelry from Roger Vivier’s Caprices capsule collection for photographer Michael Avedon. Roitfeld—the founder of Romy and the Bunnies, who is also the daughter of magazine editor Carine Roitfeld—found herself arrayed in shoes adorned with the sort of whimsical designs that the children photographed on her blog might appreciate. She carries a clutch emblazoned with bees, or a raffia bag with red fish. In another shot, she wears bracelets with colorful balls. All the pieces, available on The Luxer, are designed by the French house’s creative director, Bruno Frisoni, who delved into the archives for inspiration. Some designs are quite impulsive and perfect for summer, but, as Roitfeld points out, there are plenty of bold geometric shapes with symmetrical flourishes and just enough polish for the autumn.
