This spring, Los Angeles-based decorator Jeffrey Alan Marks is converting beds into cotton clouds awash in prints inspired by such natural mise en scènes as whirlpools, forests, and sandy shorelines. Kravet has printed his hand-drawn designs, in a variety of muted, natural hues, on the ultra-soft cotton bedding of its newest line, Inspired by Kravet. Pillows, crisscrossed with tree branch patterns, sit atop beds spread with duvet covers printed with circular tidepool shapes. Taupes and mineral gray hues play off each other just as they do when spread across vast expanses of sandy seashores. Marks’ subtle natural look suddenly seems much more effortless than the oversaturated hues of recent seasons. Less, in this case, is certainly more.
