Perfect Pairing: H.D. Buttercup + Santa Monica
The vast nondescript concrete rooms in Santa Monica lofts near the city’s civic center may soon be transformed into personalized decor-filled homes. Evan Cole’s interiors emporium, H.D. Buttercup, is now open in the former Fred Segal building at 500 Broadway, and the 35,000 square-foot pop-up will remain so for one year. Everything from chandeliers to rugs to beds to tabletop objects can be procured here. Those who still associate furniture shopping with Swedish meatballs or ice cream can conclude each visit at a table inside the Unami Burger outpost on-site.
