After a languid alfresco brunch at Gjusta or Plant Food + Wine in Venice, why not postpone any firm Saturday commitments for a few more hours now that Artists & Fleas, a marketplace for emerging artists, indie designers, and vintage collectors, is hosting bi-monthly gatherings at the Westminster Avenue Elementary School on the corner of Abbot Kinney and Westminster Avenue? Starting Saturday, March 5, the market that originated in 2003, in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, before expanding to Chelsea and to downtown Los Angeles, will set up shop in Venice on the first and fourth Saturdays of each month. A vast vendor list of artisans including potters, candle makers, clothing designers, photographers, painters and a host of craftspeople will congregate at the elementary school for the marketplace, and Artists & Fleas will also host vendor-run workshops for students who attend the school. Wander around, see what you find.
