A slew of Hollywood stars and industry influencers joined on Wednesday, May 11 to celebrate the new Studio 189 capsule collection with e-tailer YOOX.COM at a private residence in Beverly Hills. The dinner, hosted by Studio 189 Founders Rosario Dawson and Abrima Erwiah—who began the social enterprise as a way to provide a platform for handcrafted artisanal products from Ghana—attracted guests including Vanessa Hudgens, Emily Ratajkowski, Shiva Rose, and Jessica de Ruiter, who toasted to the new collaboration of pieces comprised of vintage denim, natural indigo, and hand-batik, crafted with the help of expert African artisans. The soiree began poolside, where guests mingled and enjoyed cocktails before the evening progressed into a communal dinner followed by celebratory cake for Dawson’s 37th birthday. Guests enjoyed a performance from Jesse Boykins III who was joined in his first song by Dawson and Hudgens, followed by upbeat tracks courtesy of DJ Uproot Andy.
