UGG + Rosie Huntington-Whiteley Lunch
“For me, Ugg just represents the sort of true off-duty me and it represents the real Rosie,” said supermodel Rosie Huntington-Whiteley on Wednesday while perched at West Hollywood’s Catch L.A. to celebrate her role as the face of Ugg’s new Spring campaign images.
The British model’s love affair with the brand began at a young age. “I remember buying my first pair when I was 16—all of my favorite style icons were wearing them,” she says. The 29-year-old mother-to-be and global ambassador of the brand was in good company at the event, joined by friend and co-host Rachel Zoe (who styled the Ugg campaign, shot in Malibu) and guests including Molly Sims, Cassandra Grey, Olivia Culpo and Paige Geller.
“Rachel was one of the first people I met when I moved to L.A.; we live a block away from each other,” said Huntington-Whiteley. “I’ve always loved her style and what she does and it was so great to work together finally on a project.”
Zoe shared the same sentiment: “We had so much fun. When I look at the images, I see Rosie being herself and I think that’s what we were going for in the imagery, just capturing her in everyday life with minimal makeup,” she explains. This point was further illustrated via cameos by Huntington-Whiteley’s two miniature dachshunds, Dolly and Peggy, in the shots.
For the gathering, Huntington-Whiteley paired her Uggs (black suede Reagan wedges) with a Proenza Schouler halter top and Isabel Marant pants, but the model insists she usually dons the footwear in a far more casual way: “I wear my Ugg boots with denim cutoffs and white tee shirt. I just keep it really classic—channeling my surfer-chick California style,” she said.
