On Tuesday, October 4, British fashion designer Tamara Mellon hosted a celebratory breakfast at her Beverly Hills abode to fete the launch of her namesake shoe collection. Friends and fans of the label including actors Constance Zimmer and Sara Foster, designers Rachel Roy, Jennifer Meyer Maguire, Alexandra Von Furstenberg and Violet Grey’s Cassandra Grey joined the former Jimmy Choo CEO in ringing in the contemporary brand, which melds old-school Italian craftsmanship with fashion-forward designs at an approachable price point. In addition to previewing the new collection (think: everyday silhouettes like pointy flats, strappy heels, evening pumps and ankle boots), guests enjoyed an art tour featuring works by female artists, in keeping with Mellon’s “for women, by women” philosophy.
