Philanthropic Society Los Angeles (PSLA) hosted its Winter Gala on Saturday, February 6 to benefit both the new Children’s Institute, Inc. Watts Campus, designed pro-bono by revolutionary architect Frank Gehry, and CII’s programs across Los Angeles. This year’s event was held at the private Beverly Hills home of Alec Gores, where PSLA founder and gala chair Rochelle Gores Fredston joined guests such as Tobey Maguire, Monique Lhuillier (the evening’s fashion partner), Rosetta Getty and Frank Gehry himself. The successful evening raised over $1 million towards the new campus, which once completed will serve as a place of healing and support for children and their families, imparting community members with the skills to break poverty’s barriers.
