Palm Springs Modernism Party 2017
The Golden State’s top doyennes of design joined friends from across the coast and the pond to kick off Palm Springs Modernism Week at the iconic Craig Ellwood-designed residence of Alison and Sasha Palevsky on Saturday, February 18. The afternoon desert shindig, hosted by Alison Palevsky, Oliver M. Furth, and Sean Yashar (in partnership with Casamigos, Blackbird Vineyards and High Camp Gardenias), saw the likes of industry heavyweights like Adam Blackman, Martyn Lawrence Bullard, Andrea Stanford, Peter Dunham, Lee Stanton and Trina Turk. Eschewing the straight-laced curator-led tours of Palm Springs homes, the annual Modernism Week gives a chance to experience the architectural gems in a more intimate way, as evidenced in the gathering among friends at the Palevsky’s. And with week long-event’s rigid schedule of formal dinners and events, the attendees got a chance to unwind and relax while seizing a rare opportunity to take in such an icon in midcentury architecture.
