The sunflower, summer’s quintessential bloom, has inspired Eric Buterbaugh and Nick Fouquet—both masters in their fields of florals and hats, respectively—to join forces in creating a signature scent of the season: Nick’s Sunflower, a perfume that blends the cheery yellow flower with jasmine, osmanthus, warm amber and top notes of lychee and nectarine. On Thursday, April 20, guests including Rebecca de Ravenel and TK convened at Eric Buterbaugh Gallery to kick-off the unlikely collaboration, which was also accompanied by Fouquet’s Pop-up Exhibition and Capsule collection of sunflower-inspired hats, La Côte Sauvage—a name that tips its hat to the milliner’s French roots.
