Miu Miu x Maxfield

Maxfied Los Angeles hosted the West Coast debut of Miu Miu’s new capsule collection Miu Miu Type on Thursday, September 13, fusing fashion and art at the retailer’s iconic gallery in West Hollywood.

Rumer and Tallulah Willis, stylist Jessica de Ruiter, designer Natalie Joos and others were all on hand to celebrate and view the customizable, alphabet-adorned assortment of poplin shirts, cotton hoodies and track pants in the new range. Created in collaboration with Miuccia Prada and inspired by Miu Miu’s Fall 2018 show at the Perret building in Paris—where the walls were lined with poster-size canvases depicting large-scale, monochrome illustrations of a female face or body interlaced with a letterform—Miu Miu Type pieces feature emblazoned letters from the Miu Miu alphabet and are designed to engage a wider audience with their playful and idiosyncratic style.

The Gallery at Maxfield brought the collection to life for guests including Stranger Things’ Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery and Sadie Sink, Australian actor Bella Heathcote and curator Brooke Wise, all of whom enjoyed Champagne and cocktails alongside a live set by Okay Kaya and music from DJ Kittens.
