Feting its golden anniversary, the Levi’s classic Trucker jacket got a blowout bash at the Levi’s Haus in Los Angeles on Thursday, October 5. In celebration of the iconic piece, the denim brand called upon 50 of its loyal fans including Karlie Kloss, Irene Kim, Romee Strijd and Awol Erizku to design custom jackets for the affair.

“I’m so excited to see all of this creativity,” said Kim, whose jacket was part of an installation on display. “I customized one of the jackets and I translated my roots into it. I was inspired by the Hanok, a traditional Korean house. If you see the roofs they’re painted different colors, so I embroidered the collar of my jacket with that in mind.”

The customized jean jackets set the tone for attendees to do a bit of their own designing with on-site personalizations, allowing each guest—among them Diplo, Adam Devine, Este Haim, Alana Haim, Kelis and Miroslava Dumato—to take home new denim.

Entertainment for the night was kicked off with a DJ set by Snoop Dogg, followed by performances from Grammy award-winning artists Solange and Chance the Rapper.

“I’ve never seen Solange perform,” Regina King said with a smile. “What I love most is she just seems to be honest with who she is. She’s beautiful to watch and her music is ridiculous.” The “Cranes in the Sky” singer was in rare form and brought her performance within inches of her fans as she jumped into the crowd to serenade a select few.
