Le Méridien + Garance Doré “Au Soleil: A Summer Soirée”
To kick off its “Au Soleil: A Summer Soirée” series, Le Méridien—the design-focused hotel brand with French roots—threw a stylish estival party in Beverly Hills on Thursday, July 12. Hosted by California-based French artist and Atelier Doré founder, Garance Doré, the fete took inspiration from the playful glamour of 1960s Europe, and was the first in the new “Au Soleil” program of voguish, exclusive parties that Le Méridien is presenting around the globe.
Doré, who was tapped as the creative consultant for the series, welcomed Clare Vivier, Heidi Merrick, John Frierson, Jessica de Ruiter, Kate Butler and other guests to the private midcentury estate (once home to Elvis Presley) for an evening of rosé spritzers, petit plates, and games of bocce ball and backgammon—a beloved Mediterranean pastime. The sultry sounds of Nouvelle Vague enchanted the crowd as the French bossa nova collective performed with trumpeter Chris Norton—Doré’s fiancé—throughout the night.
With a portfolio that now spans more than 100 international properties, Le Méridien plans to continue the “Au Soleil” program all summer long, with events set for New Orleans, Seoul, Nice, Santa Monica, Montreal and a slew of other destinations. Plus, Doré is helping to create a video series in celebration of la dolce vita to accompany the initiative.
