Longtime friends and former fashion editors, Marlien Rentmeester of Le Catch and Mary Alice Haney of L.A.-based ready-to-wear label Haney, have joined forces in creating a single capsule piece: a minimalist mini dress with flirty, cut-out long sleeves—available in denim, black and cream silk. The duo toasted their new collaboration in style (donning the cute, tied-sleeve number, of course) with a celebratory luncheon in Beverly Hills on Tuesday, October 11. Held at the home of Marlien’s sister and notable photographer, Coliena, the afternoon affair drew friends and fellow tastemakers, including Molly Sims, Candace Nelson, Lindsey Kravitz, and Anita Patrickson, who got to be the first to shop the covetable piece before it hits Haney’s site. The day-to-night silhouette, which hung on-display from stand-alone racks within Coliena’s home, perfectly blends Rentmeester’s pared-down style with the signature sexy, femininity of Haney’s eponymous label into one effortless, California wardrobe staple.
