Hammer Museum Gala 2015
The Hammer Museum and Bottega Veneta partnered up for the third time to host the 13th annual Gala in the Garden in Los Angeles on Saturday, October 10th. Raising an astounding $2.5 million for the museum’s renowned exhibitions and public programs, the gala also honored Oscar-winning actress Diane Keaton and acclaimed artist Paul McCarthy, who announced a future exhibition to be featured exclusively at the Hammer. Over 600 guests, including Steve Martin, Salma Hayek, Tomas Maier and Ashley Olsen, gathered on the museum’s elegant courtyard as Matthew Barney and Emma Stone gave tribute speeches to the honorees. Singer Aloe Blacc also took over the stage singing throwback tracks like “Wake Me Up,” while guests previewed the Hammer’s fall exhibitions. Artists, architects, civic and cultural leaders, philanthropists and more enjoyed a dinner prepared by chef Suzanne Goin, joining Mayor Eric Garcetti and Ann Philbin in toasting the honorees and the contemporary art community.
