Burberry + Plum Sykes, Beverly Hills
Burberry’s L.A. celebration of New York Times bestselling author Plum Sykes on May 25 was a British affair for the books. Held at the brand’s Rodeo Drive flagship in Beverly Hills, the fete marked the launch of the English fashion journalist-turned-novelist’s latest tome, Party Girls Die in Pearls (Harper Collins, $27), a cheeky murder mystery set at Oxford University in the 1980s. To welcome the new release, hosts Susan Campos, Juliet de Baubigny, Julia Sorkin and Gela Taylor invited guests including Rachel Zoe, Jacqueline M. Wood, Jacqui Getty, and Nicole Avant to sip cocktails and shop Burberry’s February collection, the highlight of which was the new DK88 line of Trench Leather handbags. A percentage of the evening’s proceeds were donated to Beyond Type 1. Party Girls Die in Pearls, (Sykes’ third novel, after the beloved Bergdorf Blondes and The Debutante Divorcée), is now available for purchase.
