The Art of Elysium Dinner
On Tuesday, April 17, The Art of Elysium and Shiva Rose hosted an American West-themed dinner at the nonprofit’s Koreatown headquarters. Guests from Los Angeles’ art and wellness scenes included Lisa Bonet, Jason Momoa, Rain Phoenix and Erica Chidi Cohen.
Serving as a continuation of the charity’s monthly dinner series which aims to build rapport in order to heal and support communities in need, the evening recognized three artists in various fields for their philanthropic work. Said honorees were Austin-based singer-songwriter Dan Dyer, who serenaded the room with an acoustic performance of songs from his latest album, Feast of Light; local catering company Heirloom LA, which provided seasonal fare for the dinner; and visual artist Russell Young, who created 30 unique prints to benefit the effort of the arts organization.
Before the night was over, Young expressed his gratitude for The Art of Elysium to the crowd. Since its inception in 1997, the institution has given artists an opportunity to give back to 343,000 members (and counting) of Los Angeles’ youth and elderly communities who are battling life-threatening circumstances such as severe medical conditions and homelessness.
